Research that Benefits Children and Families

If I had the means and the knowledge to conduct research about any topic in the early childhood field, I would like to advocate for the way policies are constructed and the contexts. I would want to know if all policy makers have the best interest of young children and their families in mind when constructing policies for the early childhood practice.

When I did research of International Childcare, I do not believe that there are any policies or procedures for young children and their families in some International countries.  As I was reading the UNICEF newsletter this week, it states that more than 200 Syrians, mostly civilians was killed in the Hama Region on Friday. UNICEF has repeatedly spoken out against the violence and the impact on the Syria’s children.  There seems to be no policies in place in this country for young children and their families, there is too much violence and killing.

I love this topic, because the policies and how they are made affects so many families these days. All children need advocates or someone who can speak for the better of children and families. I love the UNICEF work they do for children.

  3. Dear Gloria,
Policies and practices is a great topic. It's a shame to know that so many children and families were killed through violence. Thanks for sharing the insights about UNICEF.
