"Children Quotes"

Our problem, from the point of view of psychology and from the point of view of genetic epistemology, is to explain how the transition is made from a lower level of knowledge to a level that is judged to be higher. http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/j/jeanpiaget
Pausing to listen to an airplane in the sky, stooping to watch a ladybug on a plant, sitting on a rock to watch the waves crash over the quayside - children have their own agendas and timescales.  As they find out more about their world and their place in it, they work hard not to let adults hurry them.  We need to hear their voices.  ~Cathy Nutbrown

You are worried about seeing him spend his early years in doing nothing.  What!  Is it nothing to be happy?  Nothing to skip, play, and run around all day long?  Never in his life will he be so busy again.  ~Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Emile, 1762

  2. Hi Gloria,
I love the quote by Cathy Nutbrown. It is so true that most people think children are doing "nothing" when they are playing or observing nature or anything else. When the truth is they are actually learning about the world around them in their own way. I wish you luck in your future classes and great success in the future!
