Codes of Ethics

NAEYC
Ethical Responsibilities to Children
I-1.12—To work with families to provide a safe and smooth transition as children and families move from one program to the next.
As and outreach worker I work with the family from pregnancy, through their birth and to their third birthday. I support and encourage these families to introduce fun activities with their children. Read to their children to help them through their developmental milestones so that they can proceed to the next level of learnung. As parents you have to turn every moment into learning moments.

I-1.5—To create and maintain safe and healthy setting that foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and
physical development and that respect their dignity and their contributions.
As a professional when I go into the homes of these families I always try to help them to baby proofing their homes for the toddler especially. I discuss ways to eliminate hazards, and explore ways to create a safe environment that will promote physical, social and emotional development and cognitive skills.

DEC  Code of Ethics
Professional and Interpersonal Behavior
6. We shall build relationships with individual children and families while individualizing the curricula and learning environments to facilitate young children’s development and learning.
I think that the greatest opportunity for learning during the infant and toddler period is through daily experiences such as feeding, diapering or toileting, bathing, dressing and play. The experiences are new to infants and it is through their sensory system, seeing, hearing, feeling tasting, and touching is how they learn.Therefor I have the opportunity to support the parents ability to facilitate learning experiences and the enhance pleasure that both the parents and the child take in the relationship that they are building.

  2. I think it is great working with families the way you do, especially if you are working with young families. I think it is also great that you provide activities and showing them how to give their child a learning experience at a young age and showing them how to cherish every moment and make each one of those moments a teachable momement. I wish you the best of luck in this field.

  3. I agree in that it must be rewarding to have such an important, and influential impact on someone so young. Young children learn, and grow at such a rapid speed, therefore it is great that you are able to interviene from the beginning.

  4. Working with infants must be both a blessing and a big challenge at their given times. Your experience and knowledge for the parents of these precious new little beings, I am certain a blessing.
Getting off to a good start and on the proper foot is most helpful to their future.

    thank you for your efforts.
